Artist's Statement
I have been painting for 30 years — but moving to Las Cruces in 1993 gave me an opportunity for new inspiration – the desert landscape. Living in this area also allowed me to study with Joe Ireland, a great teacher and inspired artist.
My primary subject is the landscape. In a painting I want to capture and evoke the same sense of place that I experience when visiting an ancient canyon or viewing a powerful river.
I have exhibited in numerous competitions and exhibitions in New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, and Arizona in the past 13 years. My work appears in private collections, businesses, and the International Museum of Art in El Paso. More of my work can be seen at the Alegre Gallery in Mesilla, Nm
