Artist's Bio
Even though a native of Ohio, I always had a love for the Southwest.
Primarily self taught, I began as a portrait artist in the mid 70's. I loved to paint the old West and
legendary cowboys. Also, at that time I was involved with costume designing Miss Ohio pageants, Ohio State Theatrical Department
and Players Theater. I was also a working model in commercial advertising for eight years. I've owned and
operated several businesses including a custom clothing design shop in the early 80's in Ohio. Moving to
California in the late 80's I began producing my own jewelry designs which supplied six galleries. My husband
Richard and I expanded the jewelry business and became Silversmiths. We were in galleries and juried fine art
shows in California, Arizona and Nevada until we took a break to travel. I also enjoy photography and writing
children's stories. I've published poems in the 1995 Treasured Poems of America. This brings me back full
circle to painting. I work exclusively in oil painting the Cowboys and the Cultural Southwest art.
I am an associate member of The American Academy of Women Artists, and a signature member of the Black Range
Artists.
