Artist's Statement
What I really want to achieve, as an artist, is to bring beauty to the viewer through their own eyes.
Being self taught by choice makes that task a little more difficult. I have spent years painting on many things and have only recently re-discovered canvas and oil paint. We seem very much at home with each other.
Each painting is an interpretation of what I see when I look at the scene. Hopefully that presentation will make you want to journey to that place or it may remind you of a place you have already been and would like to re-visit from time to time.
Painting has affected other areas of my life as well. It has made me see better and realize more detail of what I am looking at on a daily basis. It has also given me a greater appreciation of all objects in nature and their constant evolvement and our evolvement as a species.
I would have to characterize my art as abstract impressionism as I feel that I use both types of painting style in each piece. I like to let the viewer put some of their own visions into the painting in order to allow the viewer to become more involved with the work at their level and not just look at something that I have created for myself.
