Artist's Statement
Simply put, my art is an extension of who I am. I cannot change it, nor make it something different. I can only improve upon it.
My art has a language all its' own. I cannot teach you to understand that language. I can only hope that you will recognize it.
Art is tangible – yet remains allusive. There is a part of the form which can be embraced, and a part of the form that charms us perpetually.
Lead yourself down the beautiful paths of Art. I cannot tell you which road to take, only that there are many.
Listen to the powerful songs found in Art. Find a way to move to their music, and so, become a part of the dance. I cannot teach you how to move, but can lead you to the music.
Listen, look and love! These are the gifts of the Great Spirit. Use them to delve into the mystery of our Universe, to walk the beautiful road of your Soul, to find yourself in Art, to Be.
After all, there is an Artist in each of us, waiting to be heard.
Artist's Bio
Dee Norleen is a mixed media artist who is inspired by the Spirit of the Land and Native American Culture. Her studio is located on the Western Slope of the Rocky Mountains in Gunnison, Colorado.
As an avid hunter and naturalist, Dee creates unique art pieces which reflect visions of spiritual connection and natural order. Visitors and commissions welcome!
